Bell View is a North Northumberland community based charity supporting older people.
Bell View offer a range of health, well being and social activities from the Resource Centre based in Belford and also provide day care and support to people in their own home. Bell view pride themselves on our personalised approach and our high quality, reliable services.
Volunteering
Volunteers play a vital role in the work of Bell View. We currently have over 50 volunteers and without their enthusiasm and support we would not be able to offer such a comprehensive range of services.
Volunteers support our work in the following areas:
The Hub community cafe: helping to serve tea and coffee, light lunches and cakes. No cooking required!
Community transport: Volunteers drive our community transport, taking older people out and about to appointments or bringing them to Bell View.
Gardening: Volunteers help in our 'potting shed' garden, growing fruit and vegetables and also with our therapy garden.
Home Support scheme: Short term help is offered to older people in thier own homes - a friendly face popping in to check everything is OK.
Luncheon clubs and coffee breaks: Volunteers help with the sessions in Belford, Seahouses and Glanton.
Fundraising events: We hold regular events throughout the year and volunteers help with selling raffle tickets, running stalls, serving refreshments.
Reception and administration: Volunteers help with tasks such as photocopying, collating monitoring figures, filing, answering the phone.
Meals on Wheels: Using their own transport, volunteers deliver hot meals to people in their own homes.
